Overnight closures on way for B7078

Essential improvement works are to take place over five consecutive nights on the B7078 near Lesmahagow from next week.
The road will be closed northbound from 8pm to 6am from Monday 15 June, between Millbank Roundabout and Poniel Roundabout, for up to five nights.
No vehicles, except those involved in the work and the emergency services, will be able to park or drive on the road during this time.
Access will be maintained to Cairnlodge Services from the southbound carriageway only. Access to the Services will be via the entry or exit depending on the status of the work.
A signed diversion route with utilise B7078, A70, A73, Hyndford Road, B7017 (Ladyacre Road, St Vincent Place, Bannatyne Street), A743 (High Street, Lanark), A73, A72, B7086 and B7078.
Head of Roads, Transportation and Fleet Services, Colin Park, said: “We apologise in advance for any inconvenience that may occur during these essential road works.
“The road will reopen each morning to ensure daytime access remains unaffected.
“We would request that all road users allow additional time for any journeys involving the B7078 during the times indicated and that they plan their journeys accordingly.
“We are sure everyone will appreciate the improved condition of the road when the works are complete.”
